This course is designed to help prepare students to become secondary school social studies teachers. Coursework will involve the creation, delivery and evaluation of social studies lessons. History 489 is recommended only for students with a strong background in history and government and a desire to teach high school or middle school. Course required for those seeking secondary education certification in social studies. Students not enrolled in a teacher certification program must have the permission of the instructor.
