The course presents the devivation of the heat and wave equations, boundary value problems, the method of separation of variables, eigenvalues and eigenfunction, the construction and prroperties of Fourier series, and the method of eigenfunction expansion to solve nonhomogeneous partial differential equations. Prerequisities: Mat 230 and Mat 231. Offered upon sufficent enrollment. 3 credits
