COM 383 - Voice & Speech for Pub Perform

Institution:
Cabrini University - Closed
Subject:
Communication
Description:
Radio, television, public relations, and any situation that requires the ability to instill confidence or persuade today demand personnel with excellent voices. Pitch, range, relaxed breathing, sensitivity, control, and good vocal production are needed for success in these fields. Based on the studies of Kristen Linklater and her book, Freeing Your Natural Voice, students remove the tensions that inhibit the act of breathing and speaking. Thus, the natural range and beauty of the voice is allowed to come forth. The course ends with the presentation of a newscast, radio program, or dramatic scene based on coursework. 3 credits
