This non-majors course will review fundamental theories and mechanisms of biological evolution of life on earth with a focus on how evolution occurs at the genetic level. Topic will include a review of historical and modern figures in evolution and their theories, DNA and its role as the molecular basis of heredity, the fossil record, phylogeny and the evolutionary history of biological diversity with emphasis on the human species.
