Intermediate to advanced level. Methods and strategies for using painting techniques with ceramic materials, as well as basic ceramic material properties and processing techniques. For students who have experience with both ceramics and painting. Includes a survey of the history of painting on clay, the interchange between these media, and contemporary examples. Prerequisites: ART 1503 and either ART 3823, 3833, or 3843 or School of the Arts -- Visual Arts 169 permission of instructor. May be taken for up to 12 hours credit. Two lecture four studio hours a week. Credit: Three hours.
