Provides a foundation of general nutritional principles and knowledge of nutrient functions within the human body. Focus is on wellness and prevention of disease for health care field students. Nutritional needs of the pregnant woman, infants, children, adolescents, adult and older adult will be emphasized. Students will learn to perform a nutritional assessment and modify a diet to meet identified nutritional needs. Prerequisite: Admission to the Program. Completion of 144, 145, 146. Concurrent enrollment in 147, 148, 149, 150.
