Study of all components of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) exposure control plan as pertinent to medical assisting program clinical laboratory assignments. Includes sterilization and disinfection techniques, microbiology as related to the infectious process cycle and orientation to office minor surgery. Prevention, transmission, and treatment of AIDS is also discussed. Prerequisite: bIol& 175 or bIol 120 and mATh 094, instructor's permission required.
