Introduces the theoretical/conceptual framework of the nursing program. Focuses on the nursing process. Builds the foundation for nursing assessment including nursing history as a basis for nursing care planning across the life span. Includes principles of health promotion and wellness, health teaching, mental health concepts, gerontology, nutrition, and pharmacology. Focuses on the management of patients with selected cardiovascular, respiratory, immune, and integumentary disorders. Prerequisite: Admission to the nursing program. Concurrent enrollment in nursing 140, 142, and 143.
