Develops ability to think, speak, write and read effectively. Develops writing skills by focusing on strategies and techniques writers use to convey ideas and feelings, to make a point, and develops reading skills to enable them to participate in their community and the world at large. Emphasizes both the process and the product of writing. This course was formerly known as WRIT 101, College Writing I. Prerequisite: Placement test (reading and writing) or placement test (reading) and diagnostic writing sample, or successful completion of enGl 097 and READ 097.
