Firefighting orientation and safety, fire behavior, building construct ion, firefighting personal protective equipment, portable fire extinguishers, ropes and knots, and rescue/extrication. Course uses the Fundamentals of Firefighting text and is the first of three obtaining state firefighter I certification. Course meets or exceeds some of the requirements for Washington State Firefighter I, Modules 1 and 3. Prerequisite: Admission in the fire and Emergency Services Technology Program.
