Introduces Shakespeare as a dramatist of his time. A performance-based course including full-scale productions of either a complete Shakespearean play or major scenes from two separate plays. Develops strategies for reading, analysis, interpretation and performing. This course was formerly known as LIT 221/ENGL 221. Prerequisite: enGl& 101 or WRIT 101 or instructor's permission, or 101 concurrently.
