Explores the field practices and theoretical methods of archaeology, as well as the patterns of the archaeological record in our region and the world. Considers the cultural evolution of the last remaining highly sophisticated hunters/fisher/gatherer societies: the Northwest Coast Indian Cultures. Examines the record from the earliest hunter/gatherers through formative civilizations from a world perspective. This course was formerly known as ANTH 104, Introduction to Archaeology.
