The ethics, standards, and methods of scientific inquiry in social research and the helping services. Particular emphasis is given to standards and methods to improve helping skills. The course is directed to the professional research needs of those preparing for careers in such areas as medical sociology and social work. Credit, 3 semester hours. Prerequisites: SWK 2000 and 3800, SOC 1020, and MAT 1050 or 1070.
