This course examines the central role of the electronic media in American society with an emphasis on critical-cultural analysis of industry processes and various forms of media content. Students learn to write critical analyses of issues related to the print, film, and digital media. The emphasis in this course is primarily on television’s industrial practices, narrative strategies, and social influence. Prerequisites: MCM 130 and Junior standing. Credit 3.
