Introduction to software engineering. The course will introduce various analysis and design methodologies, with emphasis on object-oriented methodology such as OMT (Object Modeling Technique) or UML (Unified Modeling Language) to specify and design software systems. As an exercise, the students will write a system specification and design document of a non-trivial software system, the output of which will be carried over to CSC 480 as the foundation for their senior project (CSC480.) Prerequisite: CSC 340, CSC 310.
