This course examines sociological perspectives on contemporary theory and practice in community development. Attention will be given to development theory as well as applied sociological investiga tion into creating community social change. Problems and opportunities that arise from social and demographic change and the dynamics of local economies in a global context will be examined. Portfolio requirement includes an agency assessment.
