Prerequisite: CHM 2045C, CES3104C, STA3032. This course offers an introduction to the economic, mechanical, non-mechanical, production/construction, and aesthetic considerations of Civil Engineering materials. Students will also conduct standard tests to obtain material properties required for Civil Engineering design and quality assurance/quality control purposes. The materials addressed within the scope of this course include: metals, aggregates, Portland cement and Portland cement concrete, asphalt cement and asphalt concrete, masonry, wood, composites and plastics.
