Prerequisites: BSC 1010C, BSC 1011C, BSC 2012C, CHM 2045C and CHM 2046C. The diversity of the microbial world will be examined by characterizing requirements, growth and metabolism of representative microbes. This course will introduce microbial genetics symbiotic associations, immunology and pathogenicity. This is intended for science majors as an introductory course in microbiology. Three hours lecture, four hours laboratory. (A $30 lab fee will be assessed.)
