Prerequisite: FIN 4504. This course introduces students to the area of behavioral finance, which is a rapidly growing area that deals with the influence of psychology on the behavior of financial practitioners. Behavioral phenomena play an important role in portfolio theory, asset pricing, corporate finance, and the pricing of derivative financial instruments. This course covers behavioral biases, violations of the EMH and market prediction, individual and institutional investor behavior, and corporate finance. Normally offered in the spring semester only.
