Economic functions of families including home production gains from marriage, the demand for children, marriage and divorce, child support and alimony, labor supplies of women and men, the distribution of resources within families ('rotten kid theorems' and cooperative and noncooperative games). Applications to marriage and divorce law, day care, United States welfare policy, mortality, and farm efficiency in developing nations. Research project required.
