Principles of chemistry outreach with emphasis on chemical demonstrations. Activities include readings, discussion, and practice related to staging effective demonstrations, as well as structured service learning experiences in local schools and other venues. Societal issues relevant to chemistry outreach will be examined, along with assessment and pedagogical strategies. Participation in service learning is required.
