Students will prepare for travel/study in Costa Rica by completing a short course in survival and medical Spanish and complete readings and activities to explore community health concepts, and develop an awareness of Costa Rican culture, the country, and its people. Once in Costa Rica, students will participate in community health activities and learn about the Costa Rican health system and may have the opportunity to learn about traditional medicine. Instructor permission required. (E)
