This course offers a panoramic overview of Spanish-American literature from its inception to the present day. Distinctive literary movements and periods germane to the Latin American continent will be underscored. Special attention will be given to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Concepts of literary criticism and vocabulary of literary analysis will be introduced and developed. Prerequisite: SPA 2312 or assignment by proficiency examination.
