This is a course designed to prepare students to utilize radioactive materials as a scientific tool. The areas covered include characteristics and properties of nuclear radiation, detection and measurement techniques, biological effects of nuclear radiation, health and safety measures, and the practical applications of radioactive materials with emphasis on tracer techniques. (One lecture period and two two-hour laboratory periods per week) Prerequisite: PHS 2336.
