This course focuses on principles and concepts related to gerontological nursing. Emphasis is on roles and functions of the nurse in meeting the needs of elderly clients who are well and those with functional pathological health alterations. Social, economic, legal and ethical issues in maintaining and promoting wellness and safety are examined. Prerequisites: NUR 2302, NUR 2311, NUR 2501 or special permission.
