Beginning techniques in jazz improvisation will be studied. This course will involve learning jazz melodies and their chord/scale relatives as well as the study of some of the common melodic/rhythmic patterns used in jazz. Prerequisites: MUS 1201 and MUS 1202 or permission of instructor. (Two hours per week.)
