This course covers the basic knowledge, acquisition, and application of coaching philosophy, sport psychology, and teaching skills that influence coaching effectiveness. Emphasis will be placed on helping students to analyze and study teaching and coaching behaviors that are necessary for students interested in the coaching profession. A coaching practicum is included and is designed to provide the student an in-thefield coaching experience in which he/she can, in a supervised situation, develop, test, and modify his/her coaching knowledge, skill, and attitudes.
