This course is the study of selected literary works by major writers from Brazil and the former Portuguese colonies in Africa. The thematic focus is on the culture of Africa and of Brazilians of African descent. Readings, lectures, and discussions are in English, and no prior knowledge of Brazil, Africa, or the Portuguese language is required. Prerequisite: ENG 2301 or 2302, and junior status.
