This course reviews the fundamentals of music notation and proceeds to the study of melody, period structures, decorative pitches, diatonic triads, and simple harmonization of melody and bass. Equal emphasis will be placed on four-part writing, free harmonization analysis, and keyboard studies. Co-requisite: MUS 1101. (Three hours per week.)
