The role of the accounting information system is addressed from two aspects: (1) as the framework for the general, integrated information system within the organization, and (2) as the method of choice for measuring both monetary and non-monetary forms of asset-equity transactions. This course focus is on the components of the accounting information system, their interrelationships and basic functions in providing information for day-to-day decision-making by management. Students are provided firsthand exposure to system development outside the classroom either individually or as members of functionally integrated teams. Prerequisites: MIS 1380, ACC 3317, ACC 3319 and C's or better in ENG 1301, ENG 1302, and MAT 1312 or permission of instructor.
