This course is designed to focus knowledge of and appreciation for the interplay of the social sciences with the multicultural forces in society and developing the abilities and attitudes in teacher candidates to understand those dynamics will be highlighted in this course. The Integrated Social Studies Methods course focuses on knowledge and understanding of social studies concepts, generalizations, and experiences that are developmentally appropriate for elementary school children with opportunities provided for the planning of integrated cross-curricular activities using citizenship transmission, social science inquiry, and reflective inquiry to aid in the acquisition and maintenance of social studies skills, concepts, and attitudes. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education Program, EDU 4338, RED 3361. Taken concurrently with ELE 4335, ELE 4334, ELE 4336, RED 4312.
