This course is designed to introduce the students to the principles and applications of the concepts in general microbiology. The content of this course will include the morphology, biochemistry and physiology of bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, viruses, rickettsia and protozoa. The course will emphasize the normal and pathogenic processes of most clinically significant micro-organisms. Prerequisite: BIO 1301.
