This course focuses on how gender inequality is structured globally and how economic and political changes in the last half of the 20th century have impacted these inequalities. The specific regions of Latin America, Asia (Southeast, South Asia, China), Africa, and the Middle East will be compared with the United States. Some of the ways women have made changes in their countries and ultimately their own lives will also be examined. 3 semester hours
