An examination of political organization at the state and local levels and the effectiveness of governmental action in dealing with problems of community life. Attention is given to our rapidly expanding metropolitan areas, conflicts over community participation in the governmental process, and problems of relations between governments at different levels. Political structure and history of Pennsylvania are used for examples. Prerequisite: GP 101. 3 semester hours
