Pipe and duct flow, piping system design, pumps and pumping systems, pump selection and specification, heat exchangers and their integration in thermal systems, piping networks. Design aspects include working systems, mathematical modeling, system simulation, computer-aided design, safety, reliability, and introduction to optimization. Team design of a fluid-thermal system is an ongoing part of the course. Prerequisites: ME 346, 455. 4 semester hours
