Basic principles underlying the construction and use of sensing and recording instrumentation for mechanical measurements. Data reduction and error analysis. Discussion of and lab experience in the use of transducers for the measurement of displacement; strain and stress; force and torque. One lecture and one three-hour lab per week. This is a writing-enriched course. Corequisite: ENGR 323. 2 semester hours
