This course examines the basics of writing for the screen. Topics include pitching, format, structure, dialogue, characterization, and the screen play as framework for production of a film/video. Students study how to create a story through editing, exercises, and scene readings. The class is conducted as a workshop with all students reading, writing, viewing, and constructively critiquing the work of others. This is a writing-enriched course. 3 semester hours
