In this first seminar course in a two-semester sequence, students are introduced to the essence of biochemistry. The course involves active learning strategies, student presentations, guest lectures or external seminars, and other activities designed to acquaint students with and promote understanding of the discipline. It may not be used to satisfy the science general education requirement. Prerequisite: Biochemistry major or permission of the instructor. 2 hours lecture. 1 semester hour
