Faculty A study of the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic practices in jazz and how these principles are also applicable to various genres of contemporary music. The course includes analysis of representative chord progressions and compositions. Emphasis will be placed on student projects in jazz composition. Prerequisite: MUS-121 or by permission.
