Dr. Lucas, Dr. Novack, Dr. Trout A study of major writers from Francophone countries from the 19th and 20th centuries. This team-taught course will examine how colonization and its aftermath have shaped the issues of language, identity, class and gender in French-speaking literature of Canada, Africa and the Caribbean. Prerequisite: French 201 or permission of instructor. Four hours per week. Four semester hours. This course will be offered in the Spring term of odd-numbered years and will alternate with FREN-254.
