Dr. Ellison, Dr. Popescu A course that explores topics in physical chemistry in depth. Topics may include advanced methods in spectroscopy, reaction kinetics, molecular reaction dynamics, quantum mechanical calculations, and nanoscience. Written and oral exercises are required, as well as a major paper. Offered spring of oddnumbered years. Prerequisites: CHEM-309 and 310. Three hours per week. Three semester hours.
