Dr. Pfennig A systematic survey of the descriptive chemistry of the main group elements with an emphasis on periodicity, nomenclature, structure, and reactivity. An introduction to the chemistry of the transition metals as well as group theory and symmetry will also be discussed. Prerequisite: either CHEM-151 or 206 , and 212 (or concurrently). Three hours per week. Three semester hours.
