Prerequisites: NURS 20033, 30813, 30882, 30783, 30714; concurrent: NURS 30313, 30382, 30413, 30482. Issues relating to an aging population such as demographics, ageism, attitudes, and intergenerational concerns. Focuses on healthy aging as well as the specialized needs and nursing care of older persons based on the common physical and psychosocial changes that occur during the aging process. The impact of selected physical and mental health conditions is discussed. Includes observational experiences with older persons in a variety of community settings.
