Topics covered include an historical introduction to the elementary particles; symmetries and conservation laws; quantum electrodynamics; the weak interaction; introduction to quantum chromodynamics; properties of nuclei; nuclear radiations and their detection; nuclear structure and nuclear models. Prerequisites: PHYS 330, PHYS 385.
