Applies the nursing process to the nursing care of the child-rearing family providing students with opportunities to care for hospitalized children and their families. Also applies the nursing process to the nursing care of families across the lifespan in a variety of community settings and allows students to develop community-care skills through participation in community-health programs and by exploring health-policy issues.
