Offerings SOC 1110 is a recommended prerequisite for this course. This is an advanced course exploring the nature of the institution of the family in society. In general, the course will examine the evolution of the family over time as well as current issues and crises as they may be applicable to public policy. In addition, we will examine current debates and questions in the field of family sociology.
