(Formerly PTAC 1352) This is a study of the instruments and instrument systems used in the chemical processing industry, including terminology, primary variables, symbology, control loops, and basic troubleshooting. As part of the course, each student will identify and explain the function of instruments used in the chemical process industry, explain the relationship or process control elements in a control loop; and define and apply terms and symbols used in instrumentation. Prerequisite: PTAC 1302. (3:3-1)
