This course provides further study of the varied instruments and instrument systems used in the chemical processing industry, including terminology, primary variables, symbology, control loops, and basic troubleshooting. The student will apply instrumentation principles and theories to process systems and are introduced to the working principles of digital control systems and programmable logic controllers. It is not intended to give the student an understanding equal to that of an instrumentation student, but does offer an overview of how systems are used to control a process. Prerequisite: PTAC 1352. (3:3-1)
