(Formerly Physical Education 411) This course provides students with an essential knowledge of exercise for fitness and health, using lecture, reading, labs on health-related fitness components, and fitness activities. It also provides an understanding of cardiovascular disease, risk factors, and the role of exercise in prevention. Labs include fitness testing, selfassessments, maintenance programs, nutritional analysis, and individualized programs with activities including low-impact aerobics, power walking, bench stepping, toning and flexibility exercises, and weights.
