(Formerly Basic English, English 137, 1301) This course is a comprehensive review of the fundamentals of composition and grammar with emphasis on paragraph writing, beginning theme construction, and mechanical and syntactical correctness. It provides students with opportunities to develop critical reading and writing skills through reading and discussing the works of professional writers. This course is not applicable to any degree. Prerequisite: A grade of C or above in ENGL 0306 or Writing level 6. (3:3-0)
